Objective
Using the API Detection Rules that Dynatrace provides users of both Contrast Security and Dynatrace can monitor the overhead Contrast is adding to their application.
Process
Visit the API Detection Rules section of the Dynatrace UI. Give the API a name, a color, and a way to identify. For the Contrast Java agent you can use com.contrastsecurity as a pattern to identify the Java agent.
Once you’ve saved the new API you’ll visit Diagnostic tools > CPU analysis > Method hotspots to view the overhead which Contrast has added within a given timeframe.
