Issued: 11th November 2020
This bulletin addresses upcoming changes to the Contrast SaaS system.
What’s changing?
On 25th January 2021, inbound traffic to the multi-tenant Contrast SaaS systems will be moved from AWS Application Load Balancer to AWS CloudFront Content Delivery Network ( CDN ).
Customers using a dedicated SaaS system will be migrated on a custom schedule. Your CSM will be in touch to discuss further.
Why are we making this change?
AWS CloudFront CDN provides improved performance to both users accessing the Contrast UI and Contrast agents reporting to the Contrast SaaS systems. The migration will reduce network latency by half.
What does this mean for you?
If it was previously necessary to add an IP based rule to your firewall in order to allow traffic to reach the Contrast SaaS system, this will need to be updated to include the CLOUDFRONT service. Further details can be found here: What is the IP for Contrast SaaS?
If no firewall rule was required or your firewall is bound to the relevant Contrast SaaS DNS entry, then no action needs to be taken.
